Its bark peels back each year to something smoother underneath. It keeps its leaves, and it stands for centuries. We chose it for the tree, not the sound.
Maedrone is built the way the old merchant banks were. A few partners with their own capital in the work, standing behind every decision. We keep our own counsel, take on relationships by introduction, and choose them for alignment above all: a shared horizon, patient capital, shared values. There is no committee and no junior layer. Whoever answers for your capital is the person you sat across from.
Most fortunes do not last three generations. The first builds. The second holds. The third rarely keeps. The break is almost never the market; it is the two handoffs in between, from the one who makes the money to the one who inherits it, and from the heir to the steward who learns to keep it. Maedrone is built for those handoffs, and for the decades that follow them.
We hold every mandate to one measure, and mark the work that meets it with the three. Behind the mark is a plain promise: nothing is underwritten to survive only a good market, every position is shown in plain terms, and the work is made to change hands intact. It is usually why we remain when others have moved on.

A partner leads the account from the first meeting through every decision after it, so advice is never one step removed from the person giving it.

Hoovest Financial Inc. is registered with the British Columbia Securities Commission as an Investment Fund Manager, Portfolio Manager, and Exempt Market Dealer, and in the same categories in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec.
Our own strategies, open to those we serve and the investors who join them. We create and manage proprietary funds, single-asset vehicles, and the cross-border feeder structures that let investors hold what they otherwise could not reach. Each is built to compound over long holding periods rather than to trade, and we invest in every one alongside our clients.
The Private Office is a multi-family office, and where Maedrone began. It runs the whole of a household’s capital as one, or any single part of it, from a full set of modules: investment oversight, real estate, tax and structuring, accounting and reporting, estate and succession, risk and insurance, family governance and the education of the next generation, philanthropy, and the day-to-day of running a large household. We bring our own team and direct the outside advisors already in place, so the parts answer to one office instead of working past each other. You take only the modules you need, and add the rest as circumstances change.
Real assets are the engine of the firm, and we take principal positions ourselves rather than advise from a distance. We develop, reposition, and invest in real estate directly, and place debt or arrange financing where a deal calls for it. Three platforms sit inside the practice. Seniors Housing is focused on investments into independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Special Situations brings capital and structure to positions that are complex, off market, or moving quickly. Distressed acquires and works out real estate and real estate credit that has fallen out of favour.
